A little update for your mid-way through Phoenix’s time on CTRL: Last week on the blog Phoenix took us on a whirlwind virtual trip round Japan, America and some of their top European venues. This week, it’s a rummage round Phoenix’s record shelves as they tell us about their favourite albums. Take a look at www.myspace.com/topmanctrl to see them wax lyrical about Serge Gainsbourg, Phil Spector and more.
As previously announced the Phoenix-curated CTRL Live event this month takes place in Glasgow at the Arches and features Leeds four piece The Wild Beasts with support from the NME-tipped Blue Roses who make beautiful folk inspired music in Yorkshire. Buy tickets here.
Finally, for your chance to win exclusive Phoenix signed goodies, including two-disc special editions of the latest album and a massive £200 shopping spree at Topman, enter here.

LIFEbeat would like to offer $20 tickets secured for Phoenix fans for

Rdv là-bas !
The show originally planned at L’Olympic on October 22nd has sold out and has been moved to La Carrière, a bigger venue, so that fans who couldn’t find tickets can join.
Of course tickets for L’Olympic will be honored at La Carrière.
See you there !
Phoenix have now taken over Topman CTRL – a new music site that invites a different act each month to take charge and reveal their deepest, darkest influences across music, film, literature and much more.
This month, Phoenix will be waxing lyrical on everything from bubblegum R&B, brotherly love, honey and ‘Thriller’. They have also programmed a gig with one of their favourite artists, Wild Beasts, headlining at The Arches in Glasgow on Tuesday 29th September. Buy tickets here – www.thearches.co.uk
In Thomas’s own words: “Merci Topman CTRL for letting us share the music we love. Expect quiet and loud, fast and slow, sweat and tears.”
Pay a visit to Topman CTRL to see what colours Phoenix’s musical world – www.myspace.com/topmanctrl
Hope you’ll enjoy it!
==========================
A message from la Cartonnerie in Reims where we were rehearsing for tonight’s show that we unfortunately have to cancel. Thomas is suffering from strained voice and will not be able to sing.
It’s a big disappointment for us as we were waiting to return to the stage for so long, and we know it’s a disappointment shared with those of you who got their tickets and often travel to join us.
The show is not rescheduled, tickets will be reimbursed..
We’re very sorry and thank you for your understanding.
Branco, Christian, Deck and Thomas
